Ways To Register To Vote

2025 Election Calendar

Advance voter registration is the first step toward ensuring that the voices of our citizens are heard in elections. With upcoming elections, Chatham County's Voter Registration Office recently participated in National Voter Registration Day, providing an additional opportunity for citizens to confirm their registration status and take the necessary steps to be fully prepared to exercise their right to vote. Voter registration for this election continues through October 6, 2025.

The Municipal General/Special Election will be held this year on Tuesday, November 4th, with Advance Voting from October 14th through October 31st.  October 6th is the deadline to register to vote in this election. Applications for Absentee Ballots may be requested in the following ways: by mail, email, fax, in person at the Chatham County Voter Registration Office, or online at the state website.  Absentee Ballots must be applied for between August 18th and October 24th.

"Voting is one of the most powerful ways we, as citizens, can make our voices heard—and our office is here to ensure that every eligible voter can do so securely and conveniently," says Chatham County Voter Registration Director, Sabrina German.  "Our team has been working diligently to provide accurate, accessible, and transparent services for all Chatham County voters. This includes maintaining up-to-date voter rolls, processing applications, training poll workers, and preparing for both advance voting and Election Day operations. We are also enhancing outreach efforts to ensure every voter is informed about key dates, identification requirements, and voting options, whether in person, by mail, or during advance voting. I encourage each of you to check your voter registration status, confirm your polling location, and make a plan to vote."
