The Public Information Office is the information link between Chatham County, its communities and residents, and the media.
The Public Information Office serves all county departments providing information to residents, news media, community groups, county employees, and others. This office prepares and distributes news releases, answers media inquiries, produces written materials such as brochures, fliers, and other literature; plans press conferences; promotes special events; provides media relations and public relations counsel to county departments; contributes relevant information to the county’s website; and broadcasts Comcast Channel 16.
The Chatham County Public Information Office strives to be as responsive as possible and to act in the best interest of our agency, the news media and the residents of Chatham County. Routine inquires and other information requests are handled during normal business hours. The Public Information Office maintains an email distribution list for breaking news and other advisories. In order to be added to this distribution list, the person needs to be credentialed member of the media. Requests to be added to the distribution list should be emailed to email@example.com.
