Doing Business with the County

Depending on the value of purchases and contracts, policies differ regarding the method of purchase and the level of approval needed. Items under $2,500 are made at the departmental level while purchases over $25,000 must be formally bid and approved by the Board of Commissioners. The County also establishes annual contracts that enable County departments to take advantage of opportunities to acquire supplies, materials, equipment and services without having to continually solicit bids.
